The
United States Tennis Association - Middle States Section - Central
Pennsylvania District is committed to promoting tennis at the local level. To that end, the USTA/MS/CPD offers grants to assist
non-profit and not-for-profit organizations initiate or expand their tennis
programming activities. Program
grants may be used to start instructional programs and/or leagues for
players of all ages, abilities and populations.
I.
Types of USTA/MS/CPD Grants
USTA/MS
Central Penn Program Grants will be awarded for a period of one year, Program grant
awards will range between $50 to $500.
A.
USA
School Tennis:
Funding for elementary, middle, junior high and high schools that
currently participate in USA School Tennis and wish to implement further
programming. (After school
tennis, summer school tennis, or intramural programs).
USA School Tennis programs are encouraged to run USA Team Tennis.
B.
USA
Team Tennis:
For creating or expanding leagues for USA Team Tennis for youth,
college students, adults, and/or seniors.
C.
USA
Wheelchair Tennis Programming:
For creating or expanding community tennis programs for the
wheelchair athlete.
D.
USA
Tennis Special Populations Programming:
For creating or expanding community tennis programs for special
populations including persons with mental, emotional, physical and
developmental impairments.
E.
Other
Tennis Programming:
USTA/MS/CPD may also provide additional funding for other tennis
opportunities or special events/programs not listed that grows the game.
II.
Program Grant Eligibility
Financial
support will be awarded only to organizations; applications by individuals
will not be accepted. Applying organizations must be open to all people, regardless of race,
creed, religious belief and nationality.
Priority will be given to those programs which promote and
develop the growth of tennis, target new players; link their program(s) to
USA Tennis programs, and assist in the development of a local USTA Community
Tennis Association.
III.
Grant Application Requirements
All
applications for grants must include a completed application form; and
program budget summary. Failure to submit all of the required documentation
may result in a delay in the processing of your application.
Approved
grants will be awarded within 45 days from date received.
